Printer Paper Jam and Trouble shooting
Some times the dot matrix printers we use will jam unexpectedly.
You can try to trouble shoot the problem using the following
Tips and tricks.
- Most of the dot matrix printer jams are caused due to small peaces of
papers lodged under the rollers or under the tractor feed. If this happens
remove all paper peaces carefully using a paper clip.( turn off printer
first )
- This may also happen when we try printing labels. One of the label may
stick to the roller which may cause this problem.
- A large paper eaten/trapped while printing may result in this problem.
Just remove the paper, turn off and on the printer a few times and it
should be working fine.
- Your Printer's damaged or faulty tractor feed may be the culprit. Check
tractor feed belts and some test printing. if required replace the used
tractor feed belts.
- Don't ever touch the printer head even after turning of the printer also.
You may get a strong electric shock.
- After continuous use, dust and some other waste accumulates on printer
head moving rod. Clean it carefully using a lubricant.
- If everything else fails, take your printer to a technician for
repair.
